Level 1 Book 6 Lesson 5我們有學過There is / There are的句子，

如：There is a book.

There are 6 eggs.

現在，我們來看看問句要怎麼說：

A: How many marbles are there?

B: There are twenty!

當你要問一個可數的東西(countable noun)有多少數量的時候，問句都要用複數形(plural)。

但是回答時，就要看實際數量是單數或複數，來決定是用is或是are。

例如： A: How many pencils are there?

B: There are fifteen.

A: How many toy cars are there?

B: There is one.

除了可數名詞問句，如”How many marbles are there?”之外，在問到不可數名詞的數量時，我們要用How much (uncountable noun) is there? 來表示。

例1：

A: How much money is there in the box? (盒子裡有多少錢?)

B: There is a lot of money. (有很多錢。)

例2：

A: How much water is there in the sink? (水槽裡有多少水?)

B: There is a little water. (有一點點水。)
